Giving Gifts that Give Back

In the true spirit of the holiday season, one company – – is truly embracing “giving.” A free online gateway for individuals to give to their favorite charity while they shop for their loved ones, is the ideal marriage of the fun of shopping for the perfect present for mom and philanthropic support, as a percentage of each sale is contributed to the member’s charity. Giving is easy. Holiday shoppers simply visit, select a cause and shop online at more than 2,500 popular retailers, such as, Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Target and Walmart. The buying power on is limitless allowing members to buy books, toys, DVDs, furniture and household items, and vacations. They can select cellular phone plan, sign up for a credit card, and even apply for a mortgage. And even better, it doesn’t cost any more than going directly to a retailer’s site. It’s quite the opposite, as also features money-saving coupons. So, what happens if you forget to go direct to for your shopping needs? created a downloadable Shopping Reminder. Once installed, the reminder will let you know when you are shopping at a approved merchant as well as their donation percentage. With the list of retailers continually growing and changing, it can be difficult to remember what stores will make donations to a charity when shopping online. What a great idea! The giving doesn’t stop there. is offering to pick up a lucky winner’s holiday shopping bill up to $2,500 for all purchases made via their site from Tuesday, December 4 through Monday, December 31, 2012. No purchase is necessary to participate. Simply enroll and shoppers are entered to win. (If an individual’s name is drawn that hasn’t shopped via, then the company will award them a $100 gift card). Winners will be announced on Facebook on Friday, January 4, 2013. Give, give and give. Does it get any better? Indeed it does for the nonprofits, schools and associations benefiting from these fundraising efforts. “We are very excited and proud of our relationship with,” said Dawn Robbins from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida (Jacksonville, Fla.).” It’s easy for our supporters to use with great stores that pay high commissions, and the customer service is excellent and always willing to help.” “Working with has been such a positive experience for our group,” said Shanna Shaw at the Austin Boxer Rescue in Austin, Texas. “They have such great ideas, support and communication that has allowed our rescue group to reap the financial benefits of their program.” “We started this company with the mission to provide organizations and their supporters with a free and powerful fundraising tool,” said Frank Molnar, managing partner at “We’ve helped more than 200 nonprofits, schools and associations to date – causes such as Autism Speaks, the United Nations Foundation, Give Kids the World and even the American Red Cross supporting those affected by Superstorm Sandy. With an estimated 150 million people shopping online, we’re eager to watch this grow and see how each cause is making a difference in people’s lives.” The news media is a buzz as well, especially on the nationally syndicated morning show, “The Daily Buzz,” where gadget and shopping guru, Steve Truitt stated, “It’s [] is one of my favorite sites to shop online. It’s such a great idea.” For those who work for nonprofits and are wondering how to join the fundraising efforts for your cause, contact the team at Organizations must have a tax I.D. to participate.
