Jack The Giant Slayer: Movie Review
The ancient war between humans and a race of giants is reignited when Jack, a young farmhand unknowingly , opens a gateway between two worlds. For the most part this is a pretty run of the mill movie with some nice art direction especially for the giants. This movie is loosely based off of two different fairy tales , "Jack and the Bean Stalk." and "Jack the Giant Killer," Both fairy tales are similar but have minor differences. With all of the fairy tale based films coming out I had begun to get tired of the genre, I mean what's next Rumpelstiltskin??? One good thing however is that it's one big giant action fantasy. The plot is pretty straightforward and really has no surprises. I did like the casting and the acting appeared to be spot on. If you can u ignore the giant plot holes that differ from the movie's predecessor , the latest fairytale to big screen adaptation is really fun. Official Synopsis: Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack, into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend--and gets the chance to become a legend himself.
