Las Vegas-, NV ~Hosted By Rap Mogul Ludicrous at The MGM Grand Hotel; The 2014 Billboard Music Awards awarded it's first accolade of the night to Imagine Dragons  for their single "Demons". The first performance of the night was by One Republic , with their massively successful single "Counting Stars".Iggy Azalea gave a sexually charged performance followed by Ariana Grande. Kelly Rowland was a natural in the Chevrolet-Billboard commercial mash up, it's interesting that she has not done more TV commercial work. Florida Georgia Line had a comedic Solange Knowles related introduction that made for one fun filled performance.

Blonde Bombshell Miranda Lambert introduced 6 time Billboard Award winner Shakira who gave a sultry performance complete with pyrotechnics that aroused the interest of both male and female attendees. Justin Timberlake took home the second Billboard Music Award of the night for his single "Mirrors". His "acceptance song" really gave a nice twist to traditional speeches that audience members normally expect. Teen- Pop heartthrob's 5 Seconds of Summer gave a punk- themed performance that had the crowd singing along and pumping their fists with the chorus. Carry Underwood presented Lorde  the third Billboard Music Award of the night. Lorde gave a vulnerable and candid acceptance speech that truly highlighted her humility.
Ludicrous introduced one of the most memorable and anticipated performances of the night by Katy Perry. Katy combined the excitement and allure of runway modeling coupled with the neon vintage look of the 80's to her single "Birthday"!  Later Criss Angel gave the lead into a heart pounding performance by Imagine Dragons, which was a more than worthy compliment to their award of the night. The much talked about Michael Jackson Hologram  performance was a real tear jerker that concluded with a tearful standing ovation by all in attendance. Other memorable performances included Mile Cyrus- Flaming Lips tribute to the Beatles, Miranda Lambert and Carey Underwood's first ever duet as well as John Legend and Lordes' individual performances.
