World Champions The Chicago Cubs Poised To Visit Obama In White House

The 2016 World Series champion Chicago Cubs will visit the White House Monday January 16, 2017, taking an early trip to D.C. to catch President Obama before he leaves office. They will be the final professional sports team to visit the White House with Obama in office.

Typically the World Series champions visit the President at the White House during the MLB season. However, the Cubs are taking up Obama’s offer to come visit him before Donald Trump is sworn in as the 45th president.
The visit has  been confirmed by NBC Chicago and the Sun Times.

On a side note, LeBron James and the Cavs have already reportedly commented they may not visit the White House under a Trump administration. Jalen Rose and many others believe a majority of the NBA feels the same way.
