Gears eSports League Announces Summer North American and European Open Events

Gears eSports is excited to announce two Gears of War open LAN events for this summer. Major League Gaming will host the Gears eSports MLG North American Open in Columbus, Ohio at the MLG Arena on July 30-31. Additionally, Gfinity, in collaboration with Am2Pro, will host the Gears eSports European Open in London, UK from July 8 through July 10. Both events offer great opportunities for players of all skill levels to compete from across the globe and prove their mettle in Gears of War eSports.

Gears eSports MLG North American Open
Major League Gaming, in collaboration with Gears of War and The Coalition, will be hosting the Gears eSports MLG North American Open in Columbus, Ohio at the MLG Arena on July 30 and July 31. Up to 32 Pro and Amateur teams will compete for a $30,000 prize pool.

Online competitions to earn points for seeding and qualification begin May 17 and run until the Last Chance Qualifier on June 25. Tournament format will be double-elimination Gears of War: Ultimate Edition “Execution” played on standard Gears eSports settings.

Gears eSports Gfinity European Open
Gfinity, in collaboration with Gears of War, The Coalition, and Am2Pro will be hosting the Gears eSports Gfinity European Open in the United Kingdom, July 8-10. Pro and Amateur teams will compete for a starting £10,000 prize pool, increasing up to a £15,000 prize pool with 32+ team pass sales.

The top four teams will play in the Grand Finals in front of a live studio audience in London, UK at the Gfinity Arena & Studios on Sunday, July 10, 2016. Teams will qualify for the Gfinity Grand Finals through an open tournament hosted the same weekend by Am2Pro at the Nottingham Forest Football Stadium in London, UK starting the evening of Friday, July 8 and continuing through Saturday, July 9. Tournament format will be double-elimination Gears of War: Ultimate Edition “Execution” played on standard Gears eSports settings.
